This class provides a fun and interactive introduction to rhythmic gymnastics for boys and girls. They work on balance, coordination, dance, and movement while trying the various apparatus. They will have the opportunity to show off their new skills at our Winter and Spring Shows.

Beginners – 5 to 8 years – 1 hour per week
Note: This class is full. We are unable to accept registrations for beginners. Registration for all other classes remains open until February 3.
This group provides an introduction to the various apparatus used in rhythmic gymnastics. The emphasis is on fun, learning new skills, and working on coordination and flexibility. The gymnasts will incorporate dance and apparatus skills into a group routine that they will have the opportunity to perform in our club shows (Winter and Spring) as well as at the Provincial Gymnaestrada.

Intermediates – 7 years and up – 1.5 hours per week
Although no experience is necessary, we recommend that gymnasts in this group have at least one year of rhythmic gymnastics or previous dance or gymnastics experience. This class will focus on progressing the gymnasts skill level and technique while improving flexibility and having fun. This group will have the opportunity to perform in club shows and at the Provincial Gymnaestrada.

Ladies – 1.5 hours per week
The ladies group focus is towards fun and fitness in a social setting. No experience is necessary! This group participates in several performances throughout the year. Many of the gymnasts are longtime members and have participated in various Provincial, National, and World Gymnaestradas.

Performing Groups
All performing groups are open to new gymnasts—previous dance or gymnastics experience is not necessary although it is an asset. All of our performing groups work towards improving flexibility and technical skill in a non-competitive environment. These groups perform in our club shows, the Provincial Gymnastraeda, and at various other events throughout the year. They have also participated in National and World Gymnaestradas, most recently in Lausanne, Switzerland, in July 2011.
Jeunesse Team – 9 to 13 years – 2 hours per week
The Jeunesse Team is our introductory performing group. New gymnasts are welcome and no experience is necessary. Previous dance or gymnastics experience is an asset. These gymnasts will work towards improving apparatus, skill, flexibility, and body technique. They will work on group routines to be performed at various events throughout the year.

Junior Performing Team – 12 to 16 years – 4 hours per week
The Junior Performing Team offers an opportunity to combine dance and gymnastics with a performance focus. This group will work on improving apparatus skill, body technique, and flexibility. They will work on routines for performance opportunities including club shows, Provincial Gymnastradas, and various other events. In the past this group has travelled to participate in provincial, national, and international events.

Senior Performing Team – 16 years and up – 4 hours per week
