Winter Spring 2022 Update
As we continue to contend with a fifth wave of COVID-19, our plan is aimed at finding a balance between maintaining our usual class format while also protecting the health and safety of our gymnasts and coaches and their families.
If you choose to enter our classes and/or participate in activities, you must follow these rules:
• If you are diagnosed with COVID-19, you must stay home and complete an isolation period of 5 days or until symptoms resolve, whichever is longer, prior to returning to class.
• You must use the “COVID-19 Alberta Health Daily Checklist” to self-screen for symptoms prior to each class and only attend class only if you answer “NO” to all questions. You will not need to submit these forms to coaches this year. A link to the checklists is under Forms below. Please note that the checklists for those under 18 as well as for those over 18 are in that one link.
• Wash your hands or use sanitizer at the start of class and prior to any activities involving exchanging of equipment. Hand sanitizer and hand washing facilities will be made available at each class.
• Wear a mask as you enter and exit classes. Masks may be removed when engaging in physical activity. If you prefer to keep your mask on, you may do so. A medical note from an authorized licensed health professional is required for any mask exemptions.
• Any spectators are limited to a single household and must maintain a distance of 2m from gymnasts, coaches, and other spectators.
Each participant (gymnast, coach, and supervising parents) will be required to complete a Declaration of Compliance form as well as a Waiver (for those 18 and over) or an Assumption of Risk form (for those under 18) and give it to the coach on the first day of in-person class. These documents are listed below under Forms and may be printed and brought to the first class. If you do not have access to a printer, your coach will have copies available that you may complete when you arrive.
While we are all doing our best to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19, while the virus circulates in our communities it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk. Each participant family must make their own decision as to whether it is in their best interest to resume participation at this time. As such, you must consider your own circumstances and make a decision that is right for you. Should you choose to join us, we require your full cooperation with our COVID-19 Safety Plan. We will revisit this Safety Plan throughout the season and will make adjustments as necessary, which may involve loosening of requirements or an increase in restrictions, depending on how the situation evolves.
